What is your username worth?an honest number
There is no price list for usernames, because no two are the same asset. There are, however, a handful of factors that move the number every time.
Send a requestWhat moves the number
- Length. Short wins, and the drop from four characters to three is steeper than anything else on this list.
- Meaning. A real dictionary word outperforms an invented string of the same length, because it has demand from outside the collector market.
- Platform. The same word is worth different amounts on Telegram, Instagram and Minecraft, because the buyer pools are different sizes with different budgets.
- Transferability. A handle that can be moved cleanly is worth more than one where the transfer itself carries risk.
- History. Account age, original registration, verification status and follower count all feed in, and occasionally dominate everything else.
- Comparables. What similar handles actually sold for, as opposed to what people asked for them.
Platform by platform
Telegram is the most liquid market, because collectible usernames are openly traded on Fragment and there is a visible auction record to reason from.
Instagram and X are the opposite. Handles change hands at the account level, there is no official transfer mechanism, and prices are set privately. Scarcity is high and public data is thin.
Minecraft sits apart again. Names are released and reclaimable under specific conditions, so the value of a short handle is tied to the mechanics of the name system as much as to the word itself.
Why we do not publish a price list
A published list would be wrong for almost every handle that came through it. Two four letter usernames on the same platform can be an order of magnitude apart in value because one is a word people search for and the other is not.
Asking prices are also not sale prices. Plenty of handles sit advertised for years at numbers nobody ever paid. A valuation that is worth anything has to be built on what actually closed.
Questions people ask
- What do you need from me?
- The exact handle and the platform is enough to start. Account age, follower count and whether you control the recovery email all sharpen the answer.
- Is a valuation an offer?
- No. A valuation is a view on what the asset is likely to achieve. If you then want to sell it, that is a separate conversation.
- Will you share my handle with anyone?
- No. Valuations are private, and nothing is shown to a buyer unless you ask us to take it to market.
- My handle is not for sale, can I still get a valuation?
- Yes. Plenty of people just want to know what they are sitting on.
